Abstract
The vocabulary of the German language is characterized by dynamic development. Verb derivatives represent a large layer of the lexical composition of the German language. Productive methods of verb word formation include prefix and suffixation, each of which demonstrates its own characteristics. In the process of verbal derivation, foreign-language bases play an important role. The purpose of this study is to examine German verbal word formation for the productivity of foreign language bases.
