Self-translation and authorized translation in translation legacy of Vladimir Nabokov

The article focuses on the translation heritage of V. Nabokov who is known in the history of translation not only as an outstanding Russian-American writer who wrote in two languages, but also as a translator and as the author of his own concept of translation. The article examines his self- translations (in particular his autobiographical prose, presented in two languages, English and Russian), as well as authorized translations which he co-authored with such translators as M. Glennie,М. Scammell, D. Nabokov. The comparative analysis of these types of translation allowed highlighting the difference in the approaches of the writer to creating English-language versions of his original Russian-language texts in the case of self-translation and authorized translation.
