Digital mutation of empathic communication in the Internet environment

The paper deals with transformation of empathic utterances in Internet communications, due to the peculiarities of digital technologies. The correlation of specific characteristics of Internet communication with the manifestation of empathy was revealed. Typical types of transformations of empathic messages in situations of consolation, encouragement and mourning are identified. Explicit and indirect forms of empathic speech acts are disclosed, taking into account their implementation in a digital communicative environment. The material under study was borrowed from the following genres of Internet communication: chat, social network, blog.
