Abstract

Intertextuality is one of the characteristic features of postmodern culture. At the same time, wordplay remains in the centre of attention of scientists for more than a decade and is found in almost any kind of human activity. This article studies wordplay as a tool of intertextual dialogue in one of the most common types of discourse in modern mass culture, the cinematographic discourse. It was discovered that the authors use such tools of intertextuality as allusions, quotations and reminiscences in order to play with the viewer, as well as to create an image of a character.
