Abstract

The article deals with metaphorical modeling of coronavirus in political discourse and individual consciousness. The analysis of scientific literature showed that during the covid-19 pandemic, the metaphorical model “pandemic is war” was chosen as an effective means, which was replaced by metaphorical models with other source domains. To identify the metaphorical idea of the coronavirus in the individual consciousness, an association experiment was conducted with university students. The revealed metaphorical models reflect the personal experience of respondents and address a variety of aspects of human life.
