On the question of defining the concept of “regional competitiveness”

The article assesses the relevance of the topic of competitiveness of states and regions, analyzes the definition at four levels: commodity, micro-level, meso-level, macro-level, the author comes to the conclusion that there is no generally accepted interpretation of this concept in economics, as well as a single view on the factors of ensuring competitiveness, innovation and cluster approach are highlighted as a promising vector of development, competitive advantages and disadvantages are considered on the example of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as on the example of its Petrochemical cluster.
