The article is devoted to the theme, problems and the system of images of the novel by the Bashkir writer D. Yultiy “Blood”, based on the narrative from the view of a Muslim soldier in the trench war on the fronts of the First World War. The characteristic of the main artistic images of the work is given, the development of the conflict between them is traced. The reasons for choosing a specific range of characters, whose function is, first of all, to be the translator of the author’s philosophical ideas are determined.
