Abstract
This article discusses the role of literary works in the study of regional geography. Given the names of the authors, whose works are descriptions of nature. Special emphasis is placed on the works of S. T. Aksakov. The role of the folk epic “Ural-Batyr” in the education of responsibility for the environment is emphasized.
