Abstract

The article examines strategies for translating metaphors in Ch. Dickens' works into Russian. Using the writer's works as a basis, it analyses and systematises techniques for adequately rendering metaphorical images in translation. Particular attention is paid to the difficulties encountered in translating metaphors and ways to overcome them.
