Abstract

The article provides analysis of the studies of humor in the linguocognitive aspect. Particular attention is paid to the relationship of humor with the values and worldview of modern American youth, reflected in sitcoms. It is noted that behind the laughter culture, there is a holistic picture of the world with its own priorities and patterns of interpersonal communication. Youth humor is a vivid manifestation of the national mentality and important indicator of the value-normative system of society.
