Problems of lexicographical description of utensils in the Karachay-Balkar language

Abstract
The article is the first to explore the vocabulary of utensils in the lexicographical aspect. It shows the degree to which this vocabulary is reflected in bilingual translation and explanatory dictionaries of the Karachay-Balkar language. Particular attention is paid to the systematic description of the names of utensils; new lexical units are introduced into scientific circulation, and their interpretations were not previously recorded in dictionaries of the Karachay-Balkar language. A classification of this thematic group of words with the involvement of new borrowed words is carried out in accordance with everyday functions of utensils, as well as depending on the material they are made of. Particular attention is paid to the reflection of the specifics of utensils in Karachay-Balkar proverbs, sayings and phraseological units.
