This work is devoted to the study of the translation features of art criticism discourse, which is characterized by the interpretativeness of the text through subjective reception. The application relevance of three stages of the interpretive theory of translation in the transfer of culturally marked texts from Russian into English is argued. Variant correspondences for the ethnographic realities of Russian folk arts are proposed.
