Abstract
This study examines the issue of using a competency-based approach to personnel management in a modern organization. The peculiarity of this approach, according to the given data, is that it is based on the definition of the behavioral standards expected from the employee, as well as the requirements for the quality of work. This article discusses such concepts as competency and competency model, also defines their main types and content of competency types. The study includes an analysis of the process of developing a competency model that reveals the essence of the personal and professional qualities of the company’s employees.
