Abstract
The study of the evolution of language and literary-critical articles leads to the conclusion that the texts of the 19th century have striking features of literary language of that period: active use of tropes, outdated speech, staroslavyanizmy detailed syntax, rhetorical questions and interrogative sentences. Modern literary-critical articles demonstrate a General downward trend in book style and mixing styles. They use short sentences, the excellences of the neologisms and colloquial expressions.
