Interdiscursivity as a cognitive-pragmatic mechanism

Abstract
The article examines the phenomenon of interdiscursivity as a complex and significant aspect of speech activity, which influences the thinking patterns of a linguocultural community member and the interaction of semantic layers in the discursive space. The author demonstrates how the interdiscursive potential of lin- guistic units manifests itself at the textual and cognitive levels and depends on the cultural and individual experience of the addressee. The role of cognitive-prag- matic mechanisms in meaning decoding is analysed: it is shown that the effective- ness of perceiving interdiscursive elements is determined by the recipient’s knowledge base. Finally, promising research directions are outlined — the study of interdiscursive potential in advertising and the analysis of perception features of texts generated by artificial intelligence.
