Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of lexical and stylistic features of the translation of songs by Canadian artists. An algorithm for analyzing the lexical and stylistic features of song lyrics has been developed. The most and least frequent lexical and stylistic means have been identified in the analyzed material. The most frequent lexical and stylistic means are metaphors and epithets, while the least frequent are hyperbole and oxymoron. There is also a tendency towards simplification of syntax and vocabulary, which can lead to a partial loss of the stylistic nuances of the original.
