Abstract
The article deals with the concept of “poetic text” and the specific features that distinguish it from other types of literary texts. The structural and semantic characteristics as well as the formal and content planes of poetic texts are analyzed. The article also focuses on the study of poetic translation, highlighting the difficulties in preserving both form and meaning in the process of translation. The study investigates stylistic devices at different levels and analyzes translation transformations that ensure the equivalence and artistic integrity of the translated text on the material of an English poetic text and its translation.
