Abstract
The article examines the main discourse-forming concepts of educational and medical discourse: "educational process", "medicine", "teacher", "student", "doctor", "patient", "organism", "health", "disease", and "treatment". The basic concepts of educational and medical discourse form a symmetrical structure and, in turn, include many subordinate concepts, forming a conceptual continuum that reveals the connection between the basic concepts of "educational process" and "medicine" and their dependent concepts. The content of concepts is realized in oral and written forms of texts in various situations of academic communication: academic classes, clinical practice, final certification, etc. Educational and medical discourse is a type of hybrid discourse that combines features of two distinct types of discourse. Their combination creates a new discourse format in which the properties of the original discourse components are modified and fixed in oral and written forms of speech.
