The role of the translator in the formation of national terminology

Abstract
The article analyzes the role of the translator in the development of the terminological system of veterinary medicine, which is a complex system of terms of different origin connected by the relationship of synonymy and antonymy. On the example of phrases from a highly specialized text, various translation strategies are shown. The conclusion is made about the active influence of the translator on the state and development of terminology: depending on the experience and immersion in the specialty, the translator can preserve the original from the source language, create a hybrid, offer a descriptive translation or find an appropriate equivalent in the recipient language.
