Abstract

R. Z. Yanguzin made an invaluable contribution to the historiographical practice of studying the ethnic culture of the Bashkir people. So far, he is the author of the only generalizing work in which, based on a comprehensive study of historical and ethnographic research, one can trace the history of the accumulation of facts and the study of Bashkir ethnography from the first millennium BC to the end of the 20th century. R. Z. Yanguzin accompanies the historiographical analysis of the works of thinkers and scientists with detailed, carefully selected quotations that clearly convey the spirit of the times, the peculiarities of the style and research method of each historian.
