Abstract

The subject of this study is the student’s motivation system for attending physical education classes and choosing an active lifestyle. The purposes of our scientific and practical article are to highlight the key parameters that directly influence students’ interest in physical activity and to develop practical recommendations for increasing motivation for physical education and sports in higher education institutions, using the example of Bashkir State University. The study of motivation made it possible to draw a number of conclusions - the dominant reason for attending classes is to get a test, the majority of students evaluate physical education at the university “rather negative than positive” and cites the underdeveloped sports complex as an argument.
