Abstract

The paper considers methods for producing biofuel from biomass: liquefaction, etherification with a catalyst, esterification without a catalyst and under supercritical conditions, pyrolysis, microemulsification, production based on decarboxylation and neutralization of fatty acids. Analysis of the above methods showed that the best way to produce biofuel is the neutralization of fatty acids of rapeseed oil with the help of a solution of caustic potassium, since this technology is not only less dangerous, but also less expensive in comparison with other methods.
