Abstract

The article analyses cultural and spiritual parallels between philosophical ideas of I. G. Fichte and M. Luther. The historical and cultural material helps to testify that I. G. Fichte appealed to the idea of nation’s final establishment, proceeding from the opposition between the gentry and the general public, whereas M. Luther called straight to the whole nation. But what made them common was appealing to the unity of cultural life, and “history” itself was treated by them as an effort of thought, so with regard to historical process its reflexive constituent was brought forward.
