Abstract

The article presents the results of a quantitative study of mathematical representations in the English-language biblical text of the parable of the prodigal son. The total number of marked lexical units is considered, as well as the time spent searching for them, and the dependence is derived. The distribution of mathematical representations in the context of verses is analyzed, descriptive statisticsare compiled. The conclusion based on the verses most saturated with the studied lexemes is drawn. The studied lexemes relate to mathematical operations of comparison, addition, division; concepts of number, quantity, part of the whole, spatial arrangement.
