Abstract


The vocabulary of the German language is in constant motion. The most productive ways of developing the lexical base of the German language include word formation. Its productive methods include word compositions, borrowing, prefixation, suffixation, each of which conveys its own characteristics. The aim of this study is to examine prefixation as a method of word formation in the German language for its productivity in the formation of different parts of speech.
