The article deals with some backgrounds of lexicographic activities in the context of the cognitive approach; the principles of the lexis’ ideographic classification based on the cognitive capacity and conversation practice is analyzed. The focal point of active lexicography is to obtain volume, semantically structured blocks. The solution of the task leads to rethinking general theoretic problems of lexis’ integrated system. This approach allows the functional-cognitive classification of the lexical system with regard to vocabulary and blocks of lexemes of different volume.
