Абстракт

В статье рассматривается явление ретронимии на материале англоязычной лексики сферы информационных технологий. Цель работы заключается в выявлении основных механизмов и моделей ретронимического переосмысления в условиях ускоренного технологического развития. На основе анализа эмпирического мате-риала описаны структурные и семантические особенности ретронимов и показана роль ретронимического ряда как одного из ключевых элементов механизма ретронимии. Отмечена тенденция к использованию образных средств номинации и описана специфика их функционирования в системе ретронимов IT-лексики.

Retronymy in the language of information technology

Abstract

The article examines the phenomenon of retronymy in the English-language vocabulary of information technology. The aim of the study is to identify the main mechanisms and models of retronymic reinterpretation in the context of accelerated technological development. On the basis of the analysis of empirical material, the structural and semantic features of retronyms are described, and the role of the retronymic series as one of the key elements of the retronymy mechanism is demonstrated. A tendency toward the use of figurative means of nomination is noted, and the specifics of their functioning within the system of IT retronyms are described.
