Abstract

This paper is devoted to the role of a polycode text in a politician’s discourse. Apparently, orientation at verbal text is insufficient in the current multimodal text, which is why this article gives examples of the use of semiotically complex texts in political discourse. As an example the author offers the discourse of the 44th US President Barack Obama who promoted himself through posters, videos, and graphic literature.
