Abstract

This article examines the historical background for the emergence of Arabic borrowings in the French argot, the process of their phonetic, grammatical and semantic assimilation. Examples of Arabisms of different lexical groups are given. The main goal of the work is to study borrowed Arabic words in modern French argot.
