Abstract
Like no other German-speaking author, Günter Grass deserves to be called the representative of German literature after 1945 with a global influence. A poet, dramatist, novelist, sculptor and graphic artist, throughout his life and creativity, he opposed to the course of time. A modern witness who wrote against the repression of memory and the oblivion of past events. This article attempts to study the existential traditions in the author’s most famous novel “The Tin Drum”.
