Abstract

The author of the article considers the facts of social symbolism in the Russian and German linguistic cultures based on the material of phraseological units with a component-numeral. At the same time, the meanings of phraseological units with the numbers 0-5, 7, 40, 100 in their composition are analyzed; similarities and differences in the expression of symbolic meanings in the linguistic cultures under consideration are revealed.
