Abstract


The present paper considers the triangulation method as a means of multidisciplinary approach applied in modern research and in text comprehension studies, particularly. The author discusses some advantages and disadvantages of quantitative analysis and qualitative study of the material investigated and besides the necessity of their combination within one research with the purpose of modelling multi-aspect image of the object of study. Some results of the experimental studying comprehension mechanisms obtained with the help of the triangulation method are analysed from the viewpoint of their contribution to the theory of text and its sense.
