The scientific and pedagogical legacy of Rim Zainigabitovich Yanguzin was discussed at Bashkir State University

Abstract


On November 15, 2021, a round table meeting was held at Bashkir State University, dedicated to the memorable date – the 80th anniversary of the birth of the Soviet and Russian ethnographer, specialist in the problems of ethnogenesis and ethnic history of the Bashkirs, the study of their traditional economy and social structure – Dr. Sci. in Historical Sciences, Professor Rim Zainigabitovich Yanguzin. The main areas of the round table meeting addressed the legacy of Rim Yanguzin as a researcher, teacher, organizer of science, as well as the understanding of the role of historical sources in the work of an ethnographer, ethnography as a tool for studying the traditional economic way of life, the linguistic and cultural aspects of the existence of an ethnos. The round table meeting was opened by Amina Urazova, Director of the Institute of History and Public Administration of Bashkir State University, Regina Mukhametzyanova-Duggal, Acting Director of the Institute of Ethnological Research named after R.G. Kuzeev, Ufa Federal Research Center RAS, Aibulat Psyanchin, Director of the Institute of History, Language and Literature awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, Ufa Federal Research Center RAS, and Marat Zulkarnaev, Acting Director of the National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan named after A.-Z. Validi. The round table meeting’s program was divided into the memorial and scientific parts. During the meeting, the meeting participants, the students and colleagues of Rim Yanguzin, discussed the main milestones of the scientist’s scientific and pedagogical career and his contribution to science. Ildar Gabdrafikov, Senior Researcher at the Department of Ethnopolitical Science at the Institute of Ethnological Research named after R.G. Kuzeev, Ufa Federal Research Center RAS, Nurislam Kalmantaev and Yulia Ilikeeva, Associate Professors at departments of the Institute of History and Public Administration of Bashkir State University, and Fuat Suleymanov, Associate Professor at the Department of the Theory and History of State and Law of the Faculty of Economics and Law of the Sibay Institute of Bashkir State University spoke about Rim Zainigabitovich as a teacher, mentor, one of the prominent representatives of the Bashkir ethnographic school. The scientific significance of the research and the contribution to the opening of the ethnographic museum of Bashkir State University were noted by Bulat Aznabaev, Head of the Department of the History of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Archeology and Ethnography of the Institute of History and Public Administration, Ural Karimov, Deputy Head of the Museum Complex of the Institute of History and Public Administration of Bashkir State University, Fidail Shayakhmetov, Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign History of the Institute of History and Public Administration of Bashkir State University, Gulkay Shagapova, Associate Professor at the Department of the Bashkir Language and Literature of Bashkir State Pedagogical University named after M. Akmulla, and Zilya Khabibullina, Senior Researcher at the Department of Religious Studies of the Institute of Ethnological Research named after R.G. Kuzeev, Ufa Federal Research Center RAS. The meeting proceedings will be published in the journals Vestnik Bashkirskogo Universiteta and Doklady Bashkirskogo Universiteta.
