Abstract

The paper deals with the propagation of a jet of oil from a damaged pipeline. The flow of the jet is caused by damage to the pipeline as a result of its rupture or other natural or man-made emergencies. The paper considers the flow of hydrocarbons in the form of a flooded jet. The equations of conservation of mass, momentum and energy, as well as a number of auxiliary equations are used to describe the migration. The process of turbulent involvement of the surrounding water in the jet is described. The trajectory of the jet, the dependence of the velocity and temperature of the jet on the vertical coordinate for different initial values are obtained.
