Abstract

The contribution of natural radioactivity to the overall complex of factors affecting the development of congenital malformations (CM) is difficult to establish. However, it is necessary to consider the radiation risks for mother and fetus during assessing the reasons for the CM of newborns. The analysis of the dependence of the CM level on some radioecological indicators in the regions of Russia and the world with high natural background radiation carried out. It is determined that the increase in the CM level is more dependent on the level of the volume radon activity.
