Abstract

The morphological diversity of cyanobacteria in cyano-bacterial communities (CBC) of estuaries of rivers, flowing into the hypersaline lake Elton, was studied. The biomass values were measured and the rates of primary production (PP) of these communities were determined. From 2013 to 2015, 12 species of cyanobacteria were morphologically identified. The biomass and primary production of CBC varied over a wide range: 25-828 mg Chl a /m2 and 0.22-23 mg C/(m2·h), respectively.
