Abstract
The article is devoted to the history and perspectives of the development of sports badminton in the Bashkir State University. The brief statistics of the main achievements of badminton players of Bashkir State University in recent years are given. The expediency of introduction of sports badminton in the educational process of higher educational institutions of non-sports profile is shown. Deficiencies in the organization of mass occupations of students by badminton are indicated.
