In Russia the first "mountain law" is officially Ore order. Then, in 1719 Berg-college took its functions. However, in 1807 to replace the Berg-college comes Mining Department. Its function was to direct the work of factories and ancillary facilities, the organization of training. Scientists took 20 years to achieve the creation of the country’s geological research institution in 1882. For the first 16 years of the Geological Committee held a survey an area of 6 million km2. A number of new scientific publications appeared, which published the main achievements of the geologists of the time, and Russia has managed to occupy a worthy place among the countries with the developed geological service.
